PM: Russia needs medium-term steps to restore economic growth
MOSCOW, Aug 30 (PRIME) -- The Russian authorities have to take medium-term measures to restore economic growth, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Tuesday.
"Our main task now is to take medium-term measures aimed at recovery of the growth rate. We need an all-encompassing development of all sectors -- the stock, banking, insurance and pension markets," Mishustin said.
He added that the financial system needs more thorough fine-tuning during sanctions and restrictions, and that the main goal of steps is to satiate the economy with liquidity.
The government and the central bank have managed to stabilize the economic situation and reduce the inflation risks, he said.
The prime minister also said that Russia has to raise the share of international payments in rubles.
